Beach Part III

We woke up one morning to find something super cool right in front of our beach house. A mama sea turtle had come ashore overnight and laid eggs just down from our house. The HB Turtle Patrol had to move the nest because it was below the tide line and the eggs would not survive. They moved the nest right in front of our house. We went down and watched them transfer the eggs to the new nest.

There were over 100 eggs to move, they take them out of the original nest and place them in order in the cooler, then replace them back in the new nest exactly the same as they were.
The eggs looked like ping pong balls and would take 2 months to hatch.

The hole they dig as the new nest is exactly the same as the sea turtle made, they get exact measurements and dig it to be the same for the eggs.

Later we went to the Coastal Carolina museum and visited some cool exhibits.

The touch tank
 Telegraph from a ship
There was a program about the sea and we got to make sand bottles with mermaid dust

One of our favorite parts of the museum was the puppet show area

We took a break from the museum to play some mini golf

We went back to the museum for the Pirate program. It was pretty cool to hear about the real pirates that roamed the Carolina coasts
 Pirate hats
 Mean Pirates! Argh!
We went to dinner at a place called The Sugar Shack, it was an authentic Jamaican restaurant and delicious! We had a great time at dinner and we all loved our food, the Johnny Bread was super good and Beckett and I both gobbled it up. I had a hot dog (not so Jamaican) and Beckett had chicken (also not so Jamaican) but Mommy had Crab fritters, Daddy and Bama had Jerk Chicken, and Bumpah had Jerk Ribs and Shrimp.

Another fun day at the beach!
